April was purchased in the spring of 2000. We could not have made a better choice in a breeding female. April has very straight conformation and thick fiber. Her bloodlines are great too; she's a Kissam granddaughter. April has never failed to produce gorgeous crias with straight conformation, nice personalities, and great fiber. She always has more than enough milk for her crias, too. She is also extremely alert and is the herd guardian. She is often heard screaming in the middle of the night, and was reported to have killed a coyote at her previous farm. April has not been shown much, but she has done very well. She consistently places at the top of her class, even being much older than the other entries. Take a look at her show placings below. It seems that it is time to retire April from the breeding herd. She has produced many beautiful crias for us, so she is well-deserving of a rest! April is re-joining our show string again, and is out to prove that old llamas can still win a halter class! She will be shown in halter and showmanship this summer! I'm also going to try cart-training April this summer, so she may debut in the pleasure driving class at the Indiana State Fair! |
