Farm News: 2006-2007 11/9/07 - Well, it's been a long time since the last update! Computer problems...what are you going to do? Ridge has settled his first female, our beautiful appy, Catastrophie. He will be bred with Catanna as well this fall, and we expect gorgeous crias out of him this time next year! I've put up some new pictures of our new male cria, Catallegre. He's growing like a weed, and has already realized his purpose in life: breeding! He is available for sale, with or without his dam, Cattera.
10/9/07 - May's cria is finally here! May and her 2006 female cria Camissia were sold to Kinny Linville of Kentucky last winter, and May was bred back to Cherokee. Well, May delivered a little boy on 10/2. He looks just like Catallegre, and they are half brothers (both Cherokee sons). Now I'm starting to regret selling May...she always has gorgeous crias! Oh well, she has a great home in Kentucky!
10/3/07 - Catanna has found a new home! She will be joining her son, Khatadyn, in Tennessee. She will be bred this November to MRLF Ridge Runner, and then leave for her new farm this spring. Thank you Doug Lunn! 9/30/07 - Well, the baby is only two weeks old, and he's already on his second name! Finally (and permanently) introducing Autumn Hill's Catallegre. Him and his mom Cattera are for sale, either together or separately. Please visit our For Sale page for more information.
9/18/07 - We have another new addition to the farm! Cattera delivered a beautiful baby boy yesterday around 5:00 pm. He had a bit of a rough start, but is perfectly healthy and ready to conquer the world! We're still deciding on a name.
9/14/07 - Lots of news to report today! Cataleya and Catlinite have found a new home, all the way out in New Mexico! They will be making the long journey at the end of the month, and are sure to have a great home with their new owners. In other news, Autumn Hill's Khatadyn (Catanna x Tuna Catcher) just earned another 2 Firsts and 2 Grand Champions in halter, finishing off his ALSA Halter Championship at just under 2 years of age! We always knew this guy was nice, and he is making it obvious! Congrats to Khatadyn and his owner, Doug Lunn of Tennessee. 9/6/07 - Our fourth and final alpaca has arrived! SIRA Moreo came from Sirius Alpacas in Cleveland, OH. He is a beautiful bay black boy, and will round out our fiber herd nicely. He was 4-H trained and shown this past year, and I hope to show him again next summer.
8/19/07 - Sadly, our 2007 show season is over. The Indiana State Fair was a huge success! Cataleya placed 3rd in a very competitive Medium Wool Juvenile Female class, and 1st and Best Lock in Single Coat Shorn Fleece. Ralph did wonderfully as well! He placed 1st in Non-Breeder Alpaca halter over 24 months, and 4th in Senior Youth Obstacle (out of 18 llamas!).
Now that the show season is over, we can start thinking about the breeding season. Cattera is due in a month, and we are so excited! This is the last cria we will have from Randallama's Cherokee. Our appy girl, Catastrophie, is a full sibling to the expected cria! Cattera's price will definitely go up once her stunning cria arrives, so snatch her up now before the baby is born! She will be bred back to our ALSA Halter Champion herdsire, MRLF Ridge Runner, for his first cria. 7/29/07 - We just got back from the Ohio State Fair. Cataleya really cleaned up in the fleece classes. She won 1st and Reserve Grand in Single Coat Shorn Fleece, and 1st and Grand Champion in Single Coat Walking Fleece! Cataleya and Catastrophie placed 5th in halter, and Catanna placed 4th. Ralph placed 4th, 4th, and 3rd in Advanced Alpaca Performance. Now to get ready for the Indiana State Fair... On another note, this is the last opportunity to purchase Cattera, our bred female. She is due in late September, and won't be able to leave the farm after the end of the month. Act now!!
7/12/07 - Please pardon the mess, I'm still having problems with the web site. I finally think I figured it all out, so hopefully this is the end of it! On a happier note, we did very well at the Llama Showcase in Valparaiso last month. Ridge won 3 1st and 1 2nd places (it was a quad show) and a Grand and Reserve Champion in halter, and 2nd in single coat walking fiber. Cataleya placed 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, and 4th in halter (earning 1/2 of her ALSA ROM: 12 points!), and 1st and Grand Champion single coat shorn fleece. Catastrophie placed 3rd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th in halter, and 6th in double coat walking fiber. Not bad for the first show of the summer! Please remember to check out the gorgeous females that we have for sale. Fall breeding season is almost upon us, and what better way to start it off than with a new breeding female! Contact us for more information. 6/3/07 - I've just received the news that Autumn Hill's Khatadyn, Catanna's first cria, just won 2 First places, 2 Grand Champions, and 2 BEST OF SHOWS at a Tennessee Llama Show! We always knew that he was destined for greatness, and he definitely proved it! Catanna produces gorgeous crias, so add her to your herd now and breed one of your own! 5/27/07 - I've made the difficult decision to offer our best breeding female for sale, SHAG Cattera. Most of our females are related, and I really need some new blood for the farm. Cattera is bred and due in September, and comes with a free breeding to Ridge after the cria is born. This is a great deal, so take a look and contact us for more information! 5/20/07 - The alpaca are officially shorn! I have four beautiful bags of fiber waiting to be sorted and sent out for processing. Speaking of processing, all our fleeces from this year and last are going to be sent in this summer, so hopefully I'll have a bunch of beautiful yarn this winter to sell. With the onset of summer comes lots and lots of training. All three alpacas, the three young girls, and Ridge are all going to be start or continue their obstacle training this summer. They will all (except poor Marley) will be shown this summer, and I'm hoping for some ribbons! I'm also thinking about starting ground driving training with Ridge. Should be interesting... On another note, June looks to be a busy month for the farm. We will have a booth at the Hoosier Hills Fiber fest in Franklin on June 2 & 3. Beautiful handmade scarves and sweaters, ceramic figurines, llama roving, and table looms for sale! June 9 & 10 brings the Llama Showcase in Valparaiso. Ridge, Taz, and Leya will all be shown in performance (double), halter (quad), and fleece (single). I'm also going to shear Inali, and I can't wait to see how he's grown up! Check back for pictures and show results!
5/1/07 - The rest of the alpacas are finally here! Ziggy and Marley (yes, they were named after Bob Marley's son) have arrived, and are keeping the girls on their toes. All the alpaca boys will be shorn May 16, and I can't wait to use all the fiber! All three boys will be obstacle trained over the summer, and Ziggy and Ralph will experience their first show! 4/14/07 - Cataleya's price has been reduced! Add her to your show string while you can! Take a look at this beautiful female! 4/12/07 - Micron tests just came back on our four younger llamas. All four have very fine fiber! Here are the results:
4/7/07 - Today was the Kentuckiana Llama Classic Show in Indianapolis. MRLF Ridge Runner earned his ALSA Halter Championship by winning two 1st places and Grand Champion. Autumn Hill's Cataleya, who is for sale, won her shorn fleece class! Autumn Hill's Catastrophie placed 3rd and 5th in her halter class, out of 17+ llamas. Autumn Hill's Catanna, who is also for sale, earned two 2nd places in halter. Congrats to all! Prices have also been reduced on the females in our SPRING FEMALE SALE. 4/3/07 - I've done a major update of the site, so make sure to check out all of the new pages. All of the llamas have been shorn as well, so new pictures are posted. I have also decided to offer another female for sale, Autumn Hill's Catanna. She is a proven female, and begging to be bred again! Make sure to check out our SPRING FEMALE SALE. 3/21/07 - Happy First Day of Spring! With spring comes warm weather and shearing! I'm going to be updating the site over the next few weeks with new pictures of all the llamas after their hair cuts. We are also getting ready to go to the first big spring show of the year, the Kentuckiana Llama Classic in Indianapolis, IN. Cataleya will make her halter debut there, and we will be showing several other llamas. Cataleya is now fully weaned and ready to find a new home. Don't let this beautiful little girl get away! I'd also like to announce the arrival of two new boys: ASC Rafael (aka Ralph) and MRLF Ridge Runner. Ralph is our first huacaya alpaca, and Ridge is our new llama herd sire. Ridge will be available for outside breedings in Fall 2007!
3/1/07 - Cherokee has found a new home- he has moved to a farm in Tennessee. 2/17/07 - For a limited time only, Cherokee's sale price has been slashed! Down from $1,000 to only $750! At this price, we would like to reserve 4 breedings. This is way less than we originally paid for him, and it won't last long! Please contact us for more information. This price is negotiable, so please email me for more information. I just want him to find a good home! 12/13/06 - I would like to show off the first 2nd generation "Autumn Hill" llama, Charity's Blaze of Glory. He is the cria of Autumn Hill's Charity (LW Captain Curry x Casa Loma's Little Sheba) and Autumn Hill's Blazing Starr (SHAG Guido x Little May Flowers). He is also very special as Sheba was our first llama, and May was our first cria. Charity and Glory are owned by Melissa Sours in Ohio.
