Rainier came into the world 3.5 weeks late...during a thunderstorm!  He is a dilute appaloosa, white with a few red spots and black socks on his feet.  He has extremely silky fiber- locked at the skin but not quite suri.  He has been strong and energetic from the beginning, and Bluff provided him with lots of milk.  He gained over 2 pounds a day- impressive for a maiden mother!  With his parents, I have high hopes for this little boy in the show ring.  He has extremely correct conformation- possibly the best of any cria ever born on our farm, which is no small feat.  He is already halter and lead trained, and has started obstacle training.  He was shorn in April, giving me a gorgeous fleece to spin this summer.  His fleece was so fine that the blades wouldn't cut through it- I can't wait to see how fine it actually is after a micron test!

        His dam, Bluff, is a gorgeous red and white paint.  Stick-straight conformation, silky locked fiber, ears that almost touch, and an unbelievably sweet personality.  His sire, Ridge, is just as nice.  He took the show ring by storm, and easily won his ROM in 7 months, and his Halter Champion in just 11 months.  Ridge's fiber is almost suri: locked to the skin and extremely fine (23 microns as an adult- finer than most alpacas).  Ridge has nice thick bone and a pleasing personality.
